See you next year...

With the (admittedly sensible) cancellation of this coming weekend's trip to the East Carson River, I find myself at the end of the somewhat arbitrary California Trout season. This has been, by far, the most active season of fishing I have been able to put in. In previous summers and falls I have been pre-occupied by such trifles as getting married/wedding planning, and internships on the other side of the country and the Atlantic. This season, however, I was really able to put some quality time on the water. Highlights were big fish on the Yuba, pretty fish on the Tuolumne, and the hilariously unexpected joy of the Little Sur. If there was a downside, it was that I didn't take enough pictures, something which I will have to rectify in coming season. Here, in no particular order, are some of the photos I did manage to take this year: Fortunately, I live in California, where there really isn't much of an off season for fishing. While trout season ends Nov. 15th, December 1st marks the beginning of the Central Coast's (highly speculative) stealhead season. While last year we were plagued with low flows and few open days, the recent weather has my hopes up. January 1st will sea the opening of plenty of good catch & release winter fishing river, including the official river of T&S the Stanislaus. See you next year... -Posted by Eben Add Comment |
